Local Sport and Leisure Facilities

Many guests to Tan yr Eglwys Cottages ask about the nearest Sport and Leisure Facilities. The closest to the cottages are in Pontardawe, but we have also provided details of other facilities which we think may be of interest to you (possibly on a rainy day)! Pontardawe has both a swimming pool and a separate leisure centre.

Pontardawe Swimming Pool

is 2.5 miles away at SA8 4JE. The pool offers lane swimming, general sessions, aqua classes and also has a smaller warmer separate pool. As the facility is shared with local schools please refer to the website for further information on public opening times.

Pontardawe Leisure Centre

is also 2.5 miles away at SA8 4EG. A different location to the swimming pool. This facility offers exercise classes, a small gym, 5 aside football, squash and junior facilities.

Neath Leisure Centre

5 miles away at SA11 3AW. There is a swimming pool, aqua classes and also some fitness equipment.

Neath Sports Centre

5 miles away at SA10 7BR. A separate site to Neath Leisure Centre.

The LC Swansea

is 10 miles away at SA1 3ST. This is a great experience for a family holiday. The centre is favoured for its watermark with aqua slides, waves and surf machine. There is also a 30-foot climbing wall, an interactive play area and a well-equipped gym on site.

The Welsh National Pool

is 13 miles away at SA2 5QG. This is a 50m pool set up for lane swimming.

Aberavon Leisure and Fitness Centre

located 13 miles away at SA12 6QW on the seafront at Aberavon. The main pool is an 8 lane, 25-metre pool. There is also a smaller pool and a baby & toddler play zone.

Dynamic Rock Climbing Centre

is an easy 5-mile journey down the Swansea valley to SA6 5EJ. This is an indoor climbing centre & bouldering facility. It caters for all, from complete beginners to experienced climbers. Tuition can be booked, especially during the school holidays.

located at SA8 4SH. It is just 3.3 miles away on the hilltop over on the opposite side of the valley. It offers panoramic views of the Swansea valley and surrounding area.
