About Us

Nestling into the hillside, above the Swansea and Neath valleys are Tan yr Eglwys Cottages in South Wales and the family farm. Set in the hamlet of Cilybebyll, the cottages and a small cluster of houses surround the ancient parish church. Around the cottages are fields, hills , streams and woodland where cattle, sheep and horses graze. There’s always an opportunity to befriend the ponies or feed the hens and possibly even find some fresh eggs for breakfast!

The cottages have a long history, their origins over 400 years ago are of agricultural dwellings where animals were kept at ground level with living accommodation above.  The nearby farmland  is in the family for the fifth generation, originally (a dairy farm) supplying the locality with fresh milk.

Customer Testimoials

Getting to meet the lovely horses, feeding chickens and finding eggs has been a highlight for the girls – they want to stay longer!

Thanks, Helen for the lovely warm welcome. We have had an amazing time at your cottage. It really is a home from home. In fact, the kids want to live here forever as it is so much better than our home apparently!”

This is definitely the best self-catering holiday we have ever taken – from the welcoming tea and homemade cake to the essentials which are often overlooked – everything was here!
