Things To Do : Near Cilybebyll, Pontardawe, Swansea
This area offers a huge variety of things to do, places to visit, whatever the weather.
The location of the cottages provides a peaceful relaxing base, but being only 15 minutes from the M4 is well placed for visiting almost all of South Wales with it’s huge array of attractions. For example, we are only a short drive from Afan Forest (Afan Argoed) near Port Talbot.
There are so many things to do, places to visit that guidance is generally appreciated, to ensure a truly memorable holiday. In order to assist you in planning your excursion, we recommend places of interest applicable to your family or group with a slant towards your personal interests.

Mountain Biking & Cycling
Afan Forest – mountain biking, cycling & walking
Cwmcarn and Brechfa are also within easy travelling distance.
The Cottages are also near to Sustrans route 43 which runs through Pontardawe, Northwards for 6 miles to Ystradgynlais. It goes in a Southernly direction for 8 miles to Swansea Marina and continues around the further 7 miles of Swansea Bay to The Mumbles.
Surfing
We have plenty of amazing beaches within easy travelling distance.
The Gower beaches – award winning beaches including Rhossili, Three Cliffs, Caswell, Langland and Llangenith.

Swimming

There are fishing opportunities on the local rivers and also sea and pond fishing.

There are a variety of walking and rambling opportunities with local footpaths from the cottages. You can also enjoy canal and riverside walks.
The nearby waterfalls and hillsides offer more challenges with some serious moorland and mountains to climb.
The all Wales Coastal Path, which includes the Gower Penninsula, is very popular with walkers. We are only 5 to 10 miles from various parts of the coastal path.

There are fabulous courses nearby at Pontardawe and Neath. Also The Mond Valley course in Clydach, Garnant, Palleg and Morriston are all within 20 minutes. Glynhir, Swansea Bay, Pennard and Fairwood are reached in 30 to 40 minutes.
Many offer exciting courses with stunning locations and breathtaking views of the beautiful landscapes of South Wales.
